ESIC Headquarters has found Aadhaar seeding of insured persons (IPs) and their beneficiaries unsatisfactory and has directed all its regional and sub-regional offices to run a one-month, cluster-based intensive drive. Offices will hold camps at establishments with many IPs, in coordination with employers, and analyse pending cases employer by employer.

With the Code on Social Security, 2020 in force, ESIC says Aadhaar-based identification has become more important for medical and cash benefits. Zonal offices will report progress to Headquarters every fortnight.

What to do

  1. Pull the list of employees and family members whose Aadhaar is not yet seeded on the ESIC portal.
  2. Fix name, date-of-birth and gender mismatches with the Aadhaar record.
  3. Offer your premises for an ESIC Aadhaar-seeding camp if your branch office asks.
  4. Tell employees they can use Face Authentication where fingerprints fail.
